How Truemed works

Take the Truemed surveyA licensed practitioner reviews your answers
Budget $30 for the practitioner review. Some CrossFit Clay members have reported being charged $15. Confirm the current fee shown by Truemed before submitting; this is separate from your gym membership.
If approved, receive your Letter of Medical Necessity
Truemed will issue a Letter of Medical Necessity (LMN). It may support eligible reimbursements for up to 12 months. Follow the dates and services listed in your letter.
Pay normally, then submit for reimbursement
Pay your CrossFit Clay membership fees with a regular credit or debit card and keep your receipts. Truemed will send instructions for submitting your receipts and LMN to your FSA/HSA administrator. Your administrator determines whether your claim is approved under your plan.
Common questions
Can I use my FSA/HSA card directly at checkout?
No. For CrossFit Clay memberships, use a regular credit or debit card at checkout. This is a reimbursement process: eligible members submit receipts and an approved Letter of Medical Necessity to their FSA/HSA administrator afterward.
Is every gym membership automatically eligible?
No. A licensed practitioner must determine that you qualify and issue a Letter of Medical Necessity. Reimbursement also depends on your FSA/HSA plan’s rules. Completing the survey does not guarantee approval or reimbursement.
How much does the Truemed review cost?
Budget $30. Some CrossFit Clay members have reported a $15 charge, so confirm the current fee displayed in the Truemed survey before submitting. The review fee is separate from CrossFit Clay membership fees.
Do I need a new letter every month?
Letters may be valid for up to 12 months. Check the coverage dates and services in your own letter, keep receipts for eligible membership payments, and follow Truemed’s reimbursement instructions and your administrator’s requirements. You will need a new assessment when your letter expires.
What do I do after I receive my letter?
Follow the instructions Truemed sends you. You will generally need your Letter of Medical Necessity and membership receipts to submit a reimbursement claim to your FSA/HSA administrator. Check your plan’s submission deadlines and documentation requirements.
